Many state hospice associations recognize the importance of regulatory compliance in the effective and efficient management of today’s hospice programs. To support our members’ need for timely, accurate compliance information, several states have joined with the Hospice Compliance Network. HCN was founded by Jay Mahoney, former president of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization and a nationally recognized hospice expert. HCN is managed by the Summit Business Group.

- Consistent with the OIG’s guidelines, a toll free number, e mail and USPS address that each HCN member can use for its own internal reporting hotline,
- Staffed by hospice trained personnel,
- Provides anonymity and confidentiality for the caller,
- Materials necessary to promote the availability of the hotline service to staff and volunteers
- Timely reporting to the member hospice of each call.
